The story

A contemporary mosque designed as a quiet expression of faith, light and proportion. Commissioned in 2020 for Er. Kabeer in Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh, it occupies a compact 27' × 65' urban plot of about 1,755 sq. ft.

The design turns a constrained footprint into a sequence of prayer, courtyard and transitional spaces, with the Qibla-oriented prayer hall forming the spiritual heart of the composition.

Arched jali screens, filtered daylight, open-to-sky courts and restrained Islamic geometry create an atmosphere of serenity while keeping the building functionally efficient.

The plan integrates prayer, ablution, Imam facilities, circulation and community-oriented spaces within one cohesive architectural language — where tradition is interpreted through contemporary simplicity.
