The story
An unused roof became the family's favourite room. We framed the skyline with a steel-and-timber pergola and arranged deep, weather-proof lounge seating around a low teak table.
Raised planters with frangipani and ornamental grasses soften the parapets and give privacy from neighbouring buildings, while up-lighters turn the trees into lanterns after dark.
Large-format anti-skid porcelain paving, concealed drainage and waterproofing were detailed so the terrace performs as well as it looks through every monsoon.
