The story
More than a residence, this house in Daudnagar, Bihar — the architect's own birthplace — represents a personal dream realised through years of hard work and self-funded construction. Envisioned and built by the client's father as the family home, the project sits on a compact 22.5 ft × 61 ft plot of roughly 1,372 sq. ft.
Clean geometric forms, warm stone and wood textures, and generous glazing give the street-facing façade a contemporary, confident presence, while integrated greenery and architectural lighting soften the composition after dark. The design follows a functional modernism tempered by warm materiality, reflecting the aspirations of its time without losing sight of everyday comfort.
The result is not only a residential design exercise but the realisation of a long-held dream home — a contemporary yet warm family residence in a familiar local setting.
